Position summary


As an ESG Reporting & Controller Associate, you will help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the firm's sustainability and climate-related reporting. The role executes reporting and analytics of sector-specific portfolio carbon intensity and supports the firm's carbon intensity reduction targets, while contributing to the automation and control of existing processes.

This role underpins the credibility of JPMorgan Chase's climate-related disclosures and targets. By producing sector-level portfolio carbon intensity analytics under the firm's Carbon Compass Methodology and supporting the Energy Supply Financing Ratio, the Associate provides the accurate, controlled data behind the firm's carbon reduction commitments and financed-emissions reporting.


Key responsibilities


  • Carbon intensity reporting: Execute reporting and analytics of sector-specific portfolio carbon intensity based on JPMorganChase's Carbon Compass Methodology, supporting the firm's carbon intensity reduction targets.
  • Energy Supply Financing Ratio: Support production of the Energy Supply Financing Ratio (ESFR), measuring the firm's financing of low- and zero-carbon energy supply activities relative to high-carbon activities.
  • Process enhancement: Contribute requirements to enhance and automate existing processes with a control mindset, partnering with product delivery teams and technology.


Team and stakeholders


The role sits within the ESG Reporting & Controller function (part of Global Finance & Business Management) and partners with product delivery teams, technology, and stakeholders across the Line of Business and Corporate Functions.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of emission reporting and wholesale banking products.
  • Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills, and experience with business intelligence tools and Databricks.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to quickly understand complex reporting and large data sets and their interdependencies.
  • Ability to build partnerships across Line of Business and Corporate Functions, exercise independent judgement, prioritize, and critically challenge to identify control issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to multi-task in a constantly changing environment.
